{"id":14450,"date":"2024-09-20T10:44:31","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T08:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/evento\/late-spring-music-festival-2\/"},"modified":"2025-01-22T12:35:39","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T11:35:39","slug":"late-spring-music-festival-2","status":"publish","type":"evento","link":"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/en\/event\/late-spring-music-festival-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Late Spring Music Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tFrom Friday 30 May to Monday 2 June, third edition of the international exhibition that offers various events over the course\u00a0of the <strong>four days<\/strong> dedicated to\u00a0great music: a peaceful invasion of the Reggia and of the\u00a0Gardens accompanied by shared moments and appointments dedicated to children.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFrom the <em>matin\u00e9e-concerts<\/em> to the afternoon appointments, which will offer further creative paths to the audience, to <em>Night Sounds<\/em> (<em>I Suoni della Sera<\/em>), concerts with a more significant duration and a more articulated programme.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe\u00a0<em>Late Spring Music Festival<\/em>\u00a0was conceived by the Consortium of the Royal Residences of\u00a0the House of Savoy in collaboration with\u00a0<strong>Claudio Pasceri<\/strong>, as artist-in-residence, one of the\u00a0most appreciated Italian cellists and former artistic director of prestigious festivals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/e_2025_eng_late_spring_music_fest_programma_3.pdf\" title=\"Late Spring Music Festival programme \" type=\"pdf\">Download the complete Festival programme<\/a> (pdf)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tIn this edition, the Festival wants to extend and diversify the <strong>involvement of the community<\/strong>: internationally renowned artists and amateur musicians, children and adults, regulars at musical events and curious citizens, all together.\u00a0The aim was to convey the message that music belongs to everyone and should be shared and valued as much as possible in its various forms and expressions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThus, over the four days of the festival, <strong>children from local primary schools<\/strong> will be the protagonists of Luciano Berio&#8217;s opera <em>Twice Upon<\/em>, in an extraordinary Italian premi\u00e8re performance.<br \/>\n\tThe concert pianist <strong>Gloria Campaner<\/strong> proposes a <strong>creativity workshop<\/strong>, a gym of emotions open to all, upon reservation (write to\u00a0servizialpubblico@lavenariareale.it).<br \/>\n\tThe <strong>Orchestra Filarmonica TRT<\/strong>, in addition to the concert performance, will introduce the orchestra to the children present at the Reggia with their parents through the well-tested format called <em>The Voice of Instruments<\/em> (<em>La Voce degli strument<\/em>i).<br \/>\n\tOn the last day of the event, <strong>2 June <\/strong>Republic Day, the spaces of the Reggia will resound at the same time. Some ensembles of amateur musicians, selected through the<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/evento\/la-repubblica-della-musica-2026\"><em>La Repubblica della Musica<\/em><\/a> call for proposals, will have the opportunity to perform publicly in the context of the <em>Late Spring Music Festival<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe protagonists are artists of <strong>international prestige<\/strong> who will perform in the iconic places of the complex: the evocative Hall of Diana and the Church of St. Hubert, the grandiose Gardens and the majestic Great Gallery.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tTwice Upon<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t<em>Twice Upon<\/em> (<em>C&#8217;era due volte<\/em>)\u00a0is the event in collaboration with the <strong>Centro Studi Luciano Berio\u00a0<\/strong>with which the Festival opens, a theatre without words for six groups of children by <strong>Luciano Berio<\/strong>, for the first time in Italy. A great connoisseur of the 20th century and contemporary repertoire such as <strong>Francesco Bossaglia<\/strong> will direct the performance. Participating with him will be actor <strong>Matthias Martelli<\/strong>, accordionist <strong>Massimo Pitzianti<\/strong>, violinist <strong>Piergiorgio Rosso<\/strong>, trombonist <strong>Alessandro Pogliani<\/strong>, students from the \u2018G. Verdi\u2019 Conservatory of Turin and, above all, some classes from the \u2018<strong>E. De Amicis&#8217; of Venaria and \u2018R. Levi Montalcini<\/strong>\u2019 of Fiano <strong>elementary school<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tThe concerts<\/h3>\n<p>\n\tThe first matinee-concert is dedicated to J. S. Bach and the Suites for cello solo, performed by <strong>Enrico Bronzi<\/strong>, one of Italy&#8217;s most sought-after and brilliant musicians.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe great Finnish pianist <strong>Olli Mustonen<\/strong> offers a recital of extraordinary musical quality, Robert Schumann and Sergei Prokofiev.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe evening concert on 31 May features the viola of <strong>Danusha Waskiewicz<\/strong>, formerly a member of Claudio Abbado&#8217;s Berliner Philarmoniker, the concerto for cello and orchestra commissioned by the Reggia of Venaria for the Late Spring Music Festival 2025 to composer <strong>Matteo Franceschini<\/strong>, Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale 2019, performed by the <strong>Orchestra Filarmonica TRT <\/strong>and <strong>Claudio Pasceri<\/strong>, and finally one of the most talented transalpine cellists, <strong>Romain Garioud<\/strong>, together with Bulgarian violin virtuoso <strong>Yana Deshkova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe day of 1 June opens with \u2018serenely evocative\u2019 music from a surprise repertoire with pianist Gloria Campaner, viola by <strong>Danusha Waskiewicz<\/strong> and cellos by <strong>Enrico Bronzi and Claudio Pasceri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>FOR THE LITTLE ONES<\/strong><br \/>\n\tFor the <em>The Voice of Instruments<\/em> (<em>La Voce degli Strumenti<\/em>), the event dedicated to children, the <strong>Orchestra Filarmonica TRT<\/strong>\u00a0will introduce \u201cthe orchestral organism,\u201d to the children and then\u00a0immerse itself in a programme completely dedicated to the <em>Brandenburg Concertos<\/em> by J S Bach\u00a0and suitable for an audience of all ages.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe concert on the evening of 1 June features two solo moments, saxophone first, with Swiss saxophonist <strong>Marcus Weiss<\/strong>, and violin later, with German violinist <strong>Antje Weithaas<\/strong> set between two quartets with musicians from the Finnish ensemble <strong>Meta4 Quartet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn the afternoon of 2 June, the great Swiss virtuoso <strong>Marcus Weiss<\/strong> returns with <strong>Luciano Berio&#8217;s<\/strong> <em>Sequenza IXb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe concert entitled <em>All the Music in the World<\/em> (<em>Tutte le Musiche del Mondo<\/em>) concludes the third edition of the Late Spring Music Festival in which <strong>Antje Weithaas<\/strong>, <strong>Danusha Waskiewicz<\/strong> and <strong>Enrico Bronzi<\/strong> will perform together in trio for the first time, followed by <strong>Claudio Pasceri<\/strong>, with <em>Luciano Berio&#8217;s Sequenza XIV for cello<\/em>.\u00a0<strong>Olli Mustonen<\/strong>, will star on this occasion in the dual role of performer, together with the Meta4 Quartet, and composer in his <em>Quintet for piano and strings<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tThe guest of Honour<\/h3>\n<p>\n\tIn 2025 the <strong>Guest of Honour<\/strong> is one of the most significant figures in the world of dance, <strong>Virgilio Sieni<\/strong>, who has proven himself on countless occasions to be a profound connoisseur in the field of music. His performances have showcased music that is very different in time and style, from J S Bach to Salvatore Sciarrino.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tThe meetings<\/h3>\n<p>\n\tThe various days of the <em>Late Spring Music Festival<\/em> are studded with stimulating and often unprecedented appointments, the <strong>Tales around Music<\/strong>.<br \/>\n\tThe meetings will be attended by Finnish pianist and composer <strong>Olli Mustonen<\/strong>, maestro <strong>Marco Angius<\/strong>, one of the most appreciated interpreters and proponents of the music of our time, <strong>Claudio Pasceri<\/strong>, and <strong>Fran\u00e7ois Lazarevitch<\/strong>, one of the finest performers of ancient and baroque music on the international scene,\u00a0the musicologists <strong>Talia Pecker Berio<\/strong> and <strong>Angela Ida De Benedictis<\/strong>, honorary president and scientific director\u00a0of the <em>Centro Studi Luciano Berio<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>Cecilia Balestra<\/strong>, director of the important <em>Milano Musica <\/em>festival,\u00a0the new artistic director of the Filarmonica Romana, <strong>Domenico Turi<\/strong>, and <strong>Vincenzo Casale<\/strong>, the artistic director of ARTONOV, an evocative multidisciplinary festival in Brussels; finally, the composer and teacher <strong>Matteo Manzitti<\/strong> in dialogue with <strong>Daniele Luzzo<\/strong>, in the dual role of cultural anthropologist and clinical psychologist.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tAperitif with the artists<\/h3>\n<p>\n\tTo contribute to the atmosphere of sharing and celebration in music, a small convivial episode was introduced.
