{"id":23120,"date":"2026-04-09T12:44:48","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/il-potager-royal-in-the-gardens\/"},"modified":"2026-07-12T15:14:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T13:14:07","slug":"il-potager-royal-in-the-gardens","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lavenaria.it\/en\/explore-the-venaria-reale\/the-masterpieces\/il-potager-royal-in-the-gardens\/","title":{"rendered":"Il Potager Royal in the Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tThe area extends to the east and west of\u00a0<strong>Cascina Medici del Vascello<\/strong>, where orchards and vegetable plots cover around 10 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe current project to restore the ancient plots\u00a0<strong>according to their original layout\u00a0<\/strong>takes the form of a square made up of cultivated plots, water ponds, fountains, fruit trees espaliers and pergolas where flowers and vegetables are grown.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe <strong>vegetable gardens<\/strong> recreate a contemporary version of the original 17th-18th century potager where produce was grown for eating.<br \/>\n\tThe recreation of historical references, the geometrical layouts, the greenery and the fountains, as well as the farmed plots, provide an open-air museum that changes with the seasons with different produce and blossoms.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the <strong>orchard<\/strong> the landscape changes.
