Free entrance to the Gardens of the Reggia di Venaria all day long
On the occasion of Contemporary Art Day, Saturday 10 October 2026, there will be free entrance to the Gardens of the Reggia di Venaria for the whole day (from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m).
The Venaria Reale presents several contemporary works and installations in dialogue with the architecture and history of the complex.
A dialogue with the contemporary opened in the context of the restoration of the Venaria Reale complex, with the Giardino delle sculture fluide / Garden of Fluid Sculptures by Giuseppe Penone created from 2003 to 2007 in the Lower Park, in collaboration with the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, in the area of the lost seventeenth-century garden completed in recent years by the same artist with Anaphora (2019) in the caves of the Castellamonte wall.
To the other pole of the gardens, in the Upper Park, Dove le stelle si avvicinano di una spanna in più / Where the stars come one span closer by Giovanni Anselmo (2013) marks the crossroads of the eighteenth-century Grand Parterre.
It follows the Storyboard. Paladino alla Reggia di Venaria, with entrance from Lower Park, a project by Mimmo Paladino promoted by the Consorzio delle Residenze Reali Sabaude and winner of the III edition of the Italian Council 2018 call, conceived by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura.
Along the way, you will also find the sculptures Gea by Luigi Stosa (2011) and Momenti / Moments by Giuliano Vangi (2013), located in the Court of Honour and in the Cortile della Tenaglia respectively, and installations of Venaria Green Art in the Garden.
Finally, in the Potager Royal at the Cascina Medici del Vascello, there is also La mantide / The mantis by Hilario Isola (2024).
