Built in the Middle Ages as a fortress for defensive purposes on the hill of Turin, the Moncalieri Castle was transformed in the Baroque era into a royal residence of the Savoy family and in the 19th century was the scene of important historical events.
The Royal Apartments of Moncalieri Castle are open to the public.
Management of the opening and guided tours is entrusted to the Consorzio delle Residenze Reali Sabaude.
Tours are available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The tour is accompanied by a guide, and we recommend that you book and purchase your ticket for admission in advance, choosing the day and time:

It is possible to admire the Apartments of the Princesses Maria Letizia and Maria Clotilde, the Royal Chapel and the Apartment of Vittorio Emanuele II, in a succession of richly decorated rooms that take visitors through the wonders preserved inside Moncalieri Castle. The tour also takes visitors through the rooms of the south-east tower, which were restored after the violent fire that broke out in 2008.

The King’s Forest (Il Bosco del Re)
For the first time in history, starting on 12 April 2025 the King’s Forest, the monumental park of the Moncalieri Castle, is now accessible to the public.
Approximately seven hectares of green lung extend over the hill of Moncalieri, offering its visitors a breathtaking panoramic view that makes this historic garden unique compared to all the other Residences of the House of Savoy, thanks to its privileged position overlooking the city of Turin.
Admission is free and no booking is required.
The park is open from Friday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in summer and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in winter.
